BCK-IBI Group assists clients in evaluating the benefits of both natural and artificial turf fields. We’ve found the change from natural turf athletic fields to artificial turf fields has resulted in significant benefits to school districts. The use of a rubber and sand granular turf with synthetic fibers, with a drainage system underneath, has allowed many districts to optimize the use of their fields. Traditional football fields, used only for competition purposes in order to preserve the turf’s condition, are now being transformed into multi-purpose fields that can be used for football, soccer, lacrosse and field hockey. Multiple use allows schools with limited space to provide best athletic use of available grounds without building multiple sports fields and stadiums for individual events.
