Downsville Transportation Facility

Downsville Central School District's new 11,200 sq. ft. transportation facility is designed with large bays to service, maintain, wash, and store the district's fleet, in addition to accommodating the parts, fluids, and staff necessary to keep the fleet in order. The building is a pre-engineered structure with masonry walls and an exterior base constructed of local blue stone and pre-engineered insulated metal wall panels. Radiant heating is utilized to keep the maintenance staff comfortable while working on the fleet. Paperwork and training occurs adjacent to the maintenance bays in offices and conference rooms that include toilet rooms, shower rooms, and file storage. Materials were selected to showcase school spirit, ease maintenance, and limit initial and long term costs.
